The 'Other' referred to in the title could be replaced by 'A Bit of...' as this book is definitely about sex! Lila, Catherine and Miriam are women of a certain age and this is the last chance saloon as they meet for their regular luncheon update. Lila is exploring sex clubs with her husband and Miriam fancies the waiter. Catherine is unsure at this stage what it is all about but she soon finds out!
As a reader, be prepared. Without giving too much away, one of them has a lover who likes to explain in detail what he is going to do before he does it and you can't really describe exactly what is going down in a sex club without being fairly explicit.
Anyway, it's a cheery romp. If you like those romance novels where the heroine thinks she's having fun with the stable lad but he turns out to be the inheritor of the family fortune you'll love this, but at times it's a bit contrived.
I'm not sure it's one for the Leamington Spa Lady's Book Club monthly meeting either but it's cheery fun if you like that sort of thing!
