An extraordinary thing happens to Roxie Mitchell when a street entertainer grants her a wish, and she just happens to be telling her friend on the phone how she would like to become a character in the latest Anna Matthews romance, and then she is.
It’s a good opening and when Mr Right arrives on time, things look promising but, unfortunately, Anna is writing a book about serial killers this time so Roxie narrowly avoids being stabbed. From there, the story barrels along at pace and, yes, there are serial killers and more.
It’s clever how the writer just about keeps this plot located in some kind of reality while the fiction works its way through. Roxie is a self defence expert and that helps, and then she meets Grant!
All the way through you know that this is fiction (which of course it is) and that somewhere Anna is going to write The End, and will Roxie be alive or dead? It’s a great read as well as funny with some excellent characters and is highly recommended.
